How I plan my travels + thoughts on planning to live on a boat
"What country are you in again?" - My parents
The truth is, once the novelty of travel wears off and you realise it's actually quite tiring to move around a lot, you stop wanting to do it. Moving all the time has a lot of downsides, whereas staying in a place for longer really allows you to experience it fully. The great thing is, there's always the freedom to leave if it's not working out any more.
Slow travel
Moving every 3-4 months quickly became the sensible pace, and pretty soon, moving between places I already know and love became the go-to choice.
The benefit of going back to the same places is that you can settle in very fast, you already know all of the local amenities and you probably have some friends there. It only took a year of travel to identify the places I liked the most and found myself wanting to spend more time in.
