5 things I've learnt about SaaS marketing in 4 years
What I've learned since becoming a full-time SaaS marketer is difficult to distill into a single post, but I thought I'd try. Here are 5 of the most important things I've discovered based on my own experience over the past 4 years at two (very different) remote software companies.
#1 — Marketing isn't all about growth
My career so far, not only in SaaS but in my 12+ year career, has led to one uncomfortable truth: Marketing is less about growth and more about positioning.
A common misconception is that you need to do a ton of growth hacking, or find the specific tactics that work for your company to elevate growth. This should be your main goal.
