Surrender to the sea
We pull up the anchor for the first time in months and motor out of the bay we’ve been spending time in at the Southern tip of the Caribbean chain in Grenada. Hurricane season is officially over, and our broken rigging is finally fixed. It’s time to head North.
After a very difficult maiden voyage getting to Grenada, we are looking forward to going back on our tracks.
Heading South is tough because you’re beating into the wind, waves and current. Conversely, heading North the wind and current work in your favour. This makes for pleasant sailing.
The sails are raised as we take in the lush tropical scenery of Grenada one last time. It has been a safe place to wait for hurricane season to end, but we’re more than ready to move on. Destination: British Virgin Islands.
